December is for Distraction...

This December...

...take a walk through a wonderland, hold hands with someone you love, ...sip hot chocolate that's loaded with marshmallows, let your children hang their "not-quite-perfect" holiday crafts in the very place that you wanted to hang your "obsessively-perfect" holiday crafts, ...hang mistletoe in your house (even if you only have a cat) ...cats and dogs like kisses too... play holiday music round the clock, go shopping - and be extra nice to the retail workers, smile until your face hurts really really bad... wear warm socks, and sing in a really weird voice that annoys your favorite person (i do this all the time) ...bake cookies and eat them all up, watch Its A Wonderful Life ...and wrap yourself up in a christmas blanket... don't take any blessing for granted, give give give & be thankful for what you receive, ...reach down into the depths of your soul, and give away every ounce of love that you find there... talk to yourself in your favorite muppet voice, ...make something by hand that involves glitter and glue, ...dream, wish, believe in the winter magic that made childhood so blissful, ...think about how amazing it would have been to hold baby jesus in your arms and bask in his sweetness, ...and then just bask in his love for you... enjoy every last morsel of this special season, ...it's truly a gift.

a lot of our decorations are hand-made this year! E and i have had tons of fun crafting. love it.

happy december 1st! we spent our day with sweet mary-lindsey - who shared her Bumbo seat with little e. cute cute cute! maybe santa is bringing her one of her own...
